Casemiro was influential as ever in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night. The Brazilian dominated everything in midfield and registered an assist for Fred in the final minutes.
Putting the World Cup disappointment well and truly behind him, Casemiro broke up play, lead by example and showcased his incredible passing ability throughout the match.
After another stunning performance for United, Casemiro earned praise from club legend Rio Ferdinand, who made a comparison to how the Brazil star climbed to celebrate one of United’s goals last night. Quite similar to how Ferdinand would climb over his teammates whenever a big goal was scored in United’s favour.
Ferdinand wrote: “3-0. Love this guy @Casemiro.”
The United midfielder responded: “Thank you Legend. I am honoured!”

Manchester United fans also took to social media after the match to wax lyrical over Casemiro and his performances for the club this season. I would go as far to say he is currently the best holding midfielder in the world.
Casemiro was Brazil’s best player at the World Cup, too.
