Manchester United on alert as Joao Felix could be available on loan

Atletico Madrid could let Joao Felix leave on loan so long as the Financial Fair Play costs of his contract are covered by the benefiting club.

This is something that will likely appeal only to Premier League clubs but a player like Felix is bound to earn a savage salary at Atletico Madrid – since he was previously involved in a mega-money transfer from Benfica.

It seems they have accepted that they will not be making a profit on the €126million they shelled out to sign the former Golden Boy winner, with Atleti aiming to recoup around £8million in loan fees.

That is according to the Daily Mirror, who claim the La Liga outfit want Felix’s wages paid in full and there would be no contractual obligation to buy. The newspaper believes that two Premier League clubs are interested – including Arsenal. The other party rumoured to be keen is United.

United need to sign a goalscorer in January. Someone to play through the middle because we cannot rely on Anthony Martial’s injury record for the remainder of the season.

Let us know in the comments section if you think United should sign Felix on loan for the rest of the season. There will be cheaper options and Ten Hag may prefer a more traditional striker.
