(Video) Scott McTominay praises Erik ten Hag, claims manager can do ‘big things’ at Man Utd

Scott McTominay is one of the players to benefit from Erik ten Hag’s appointment this season, with the Scotland international surprising supporters with his performances earlier this season.

Ten Hag made it abundantly clear that he was keen on strengthening the midfield over the summer but with reinforcements stalling, McTominay started the campaign alongside new signing Christian Eriksen.

A challenging start aside, McTominay almost immediately became one of the first names on the teamsheet with his performances and he even kept Casemiro out of the side for nearly two months.

Now, speaking ahead of the highly anticipated return of club football after the season was paused to accommodate the World Cup, McTominay has reserved special praise for Ten Hag, arguing he can achieve ‘big things’ at Old Trafford.

“I feel like he’s capable of doing big things at Man United,” McTominay told Football Daily, as seen above. “Obviously, for us, without speaking too soon, he’s got everything a manager needs to really push us forward.

“And obviously, this group of players that he’s acquired is good enough to win trophies as well. I feel like for us, it’s just taking it a game at a time, you can’t get too carried away and say this, that or the other.

“It’s just business as usual. Get back training and see where we go from there.”

Due to Casemiro’s involvement in the World Cup, it’s highly likely that McTominay will be welcomed back into the side for the first couple of games and the former Academy star will be hoping to impress Ten Hag enough to nail down a permanent place.
