Manchester United provide training update after Qatar World Cup ends

Manchester United are preparing for their return to football later this week and Erik ten Hag has welcomed a host of his first-team regulars back to training after their involvement in this winter’s World Cup in Qatar.

38 days will seperate the last United fixture and the next, tomorrow’s Carabao Cup tie with Burnley, and although Ten Hag is likely to name a weakened side, most players will be back for the Premier League return against Nottingham Forest next week.

Ahead of United’s highly anticipated return, the club have now provided an update on players returning from the month-long tournament in Qatar, revealing who is and who is not back in training.

As per Manchester United’s official website, all three of United’s English players, Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw, are back at Carrington.

Brazil trio Antony, Casemiro and Fred are also back at the storied training complex, whilst Tyrell Malacia and Facundo Pellistri are ready to gear up as well.

Bruno Fernandes, one of the tournament’s outstanding players, is back in training but team-mate Diogo Dalot was not pictured with the main group.

The young full-back, who dislodged Manchester City star Joao Cancelo as Portugal’s first-choice right-back, sustained an injury in their closing game.

Christian Eriksen is also back on the grass in Manchester after his Denmark side were, unfortunately, dealt an early blow in the group stages.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are not back with the club yet after they were only just involved in the thrilling final last weekend.
