West Ham eye Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka for loan move

West Ham are interested in signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka on loan from Manchester United.

That is according to Manchester Evening News, which confirmed that the Irons are looking to bolster their squad with the addition of the experienced defender, who has fallen out of favour at United. It was reported earlier this week that Wolves were leading the race for Wan-Bissaka, however, this would likely be on a permanent transfer.

Erik ten Hag has opted for Diogo Dalot as his first choice this season and the Portugal international has started every match except one, in which he faced a one-game suspension. Instead of utilising the natural alternative in Wan-Bissaka, he deployed left-back Tyrell Malacia out of position.

The Englishman has made just one four-minute cameo this season but may feature against Burnley in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup tie due to Dalot’s hamstring injury that he sustained during the World Cup.

Stretty News’ verdict

Wan-Bissaka should leave, but it has to be a permanent deal. He clearly does not fit Ten Hag’s style of play and will not be used this season, and he shouldn’t now, as his lack of game time may prove to be a weakness on the pitch. It’s time to cash in and cut our losses.
