Brazil lineup to face Croatia in quarter-final: Casemiro starts, Fred and Antony on bench

Three Manchester United players have been named on the teamsheet for Brazil’s quarter-final World Cup tie with Croatia.

Casemiro starts the match, which was expected as the midfielder has been instrumental in their progression throughout the campaign. He netted the goal that secured their qualification to the Round of 16 and has given world-class performances across the pitch to help his side on their quest to lift the lucrative trophy.

Fred is on the bench for the third time. He has started two matches and was substituted into the match against Serbia. The midfielder did not feature in the Selecao’s 4-1 win against South Korea.

Antony may feature as a substitute

Antony will also start on the bench. United’s summer signing has struggled for consistent game time in the tournament given Brazil’s firepower in attack and his recent injury issues. The 22-year-old started against Cameroon and came off the bench against Serbia and Switzerland.

Brazil are the favourites to win today’s tie and are still the major favourites to win the World Cup.

Good luck, Reds!
