(Video) Diogo Dalot marks World Cup debut with assist 5 minutes in

Portugal lead South Korea after an early goal from Ricardo Horta.

Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot is making his World Cup debut and 5 minutes into the game, he was responsible for assisting the opening goal as Portugal look set to top their group.

It was a poor goal for South Korea to concede. Pepe played a long diagonal ball from deep down towards the right wing for Dalot to chase. He controlled it wonderfully before cutting inside. His pull-back allowed Horta to volley home from close range.

This means an already difficult task for South Korea has been made more difficult. They only have themselves to blame but we’re happy for Dalot.

Dalot could earn his way into the Portugal starting XI for the knockout stages at this rate. He has now been directly involved in four goals across his last three appearances for Portugal in all competitions (2 goals, 2 assists), as per Opta Joe.

I think he’s been one of our most improved players this season, too.

South Korea have since equalised to make it 1-1.
