Tyrell Malacia progresses to World Cup Round of 16 with Netherlands

Tyrell Malacia is through to the World Cup Round of 16 with the Netherlands.

The Dutch squad ended the group stage with a 2-0 win against the hosts Qatar, who finish the tournament with 0 points.

The 23-year-old is yet to make an appearance in the tournament, having been an unused substitute since their campaign began.

Hopefully, Malacia can feature in the squad’s forthcoming fixtures, especially considering the fine form he has displayed for Manchester United. He has given competition to Luke Shaw in the left-back position and has even completed a one-match stint at right-back to fill in for the suspended Diogo Dalot.

Several United players have already progressed to RO16

He joins fellow Reds Raphael Varane, Antony, Casemiro, Fred, Dalot and Bruno Fernandes in the next round of the competition. England can secure their progression tonight, meaning Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Shaw will also be in the mix.

The United players in Qatar have all been in exceptional form and have put the Red Devils second on the list of highest goal involvements from their international players in Doha.
