Fernandes netted two goals in Portugal’s 2-0 win over Uruguay last night that secured their progression to the Round of 16. Brazil and France are the only other teams to have qualified from their respective groups, meaning United have players from all three sides heading into the next stage.
Fernandes above the rest in Qatar
The 28-year-old’s first goal was initially given to former Red Cristiano Ronaldo before FIFA awarded it to Fernandes. He has the highest goal involvement of any player throughout the tournament and he has been crucial to both of Portugal’s victories.
Bruno Fernandes has scored or assisted 4 goals at the World Cup. No player has been involved in more.

The ‘Portuguese Magnifico’ has been invaluable to the Red Devils since he joined in 2020. Hopefully, his confidence can build more ready for the return of club football in late December.
