Barcelona youngster names United as the only other team he would join

Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde named Manchester United as the only other side he would play for aside from the La Liga giants.

Let’s see how the 19-year-old rates playing under the Old Trafford lights in February when Barcelona make the trip to Manchester for the side’s Europa League clash.

Balde has cemented his place in the Blaugrana starting 11 and is now preferred over the experienced Jordi Alba. He has made 12 appearances in the league this season, assisting three goals in the process.

He is a La Masia graduate and made his debut for Spain this week after being called up to represent the side at the World Cup in Qatar.

He is nearing the end of his contract at Barcelona but looks set to sign a new deal and is adamant about staying at his boyhood club, despite his apparent soft spot for the Red Devils.

Mundo Deportivo asked the youngster (via TikTok): “A club other than Barcelona?” and he replied, “United”.

Whilst it’s refreshing to see young stars show their respect for the Reds, the form and reliability of Luke Shaw and summer signing Tyrell Malacia means he’s currently not needed at the club, but given his interest, who knows if a deal may materialise in the future?
