Napoli not entertaining Victor Osimhen interest in January

Manchester United are expected to enter the transfer market to replace Cristiano Ronaldo in the January transfer window. It remains to be seen if they will look for a stop-gap option before revisiting the market in the summer, especially after the Glazers announced that the club was for sale.

This should raise questions about United’s transfer activity over the coming months, although one thing is certain… the Glazers won’t be freeing up big sums of cash for Erik ten Hag to spend in the summer. They will probably tell him that whatever he spends will be removed from the summer transfer kitty.

That still won’t stop the clickbait media from spreading transfer gossip – attaching United’s name to every player they can.

The Mirror recently reported that United were considering Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as Ronaldo’s replacement, but there is no way they would permit a sale midway through the season when they’ve hopes to win Serie A and go far in the Champions League. Absolutely no chance.

Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed via CaughtOffside that Napoli have no intention to sell Osimhen in January. On top of that, they are demanding in the region of €120 million in the summer for his signature.

“Napoli insist they won’t sell Osimhen or any other player in January. The price tag in the summer was €120m and nothing happened, now they’re doing great in Serie A and Champions League so there are no plans to sell him in January at all,” said Romano.

It remains to be seen who is actually interested in buying Manchester United and they will need to be bigger spenders than the Glazer family to get the club back where it belongs.
