Gary Lineker claims Jude Bellingham reminds him of Manchester United legend

Jude Bellingham is England’s new shiny toy and it seems like every big club in Europe will be in the hunt for his signature next summer.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has received deserved praise for his performances in Germany and the Champions League this season and he was able to take that form with him onto the international stage.

In England’s 6-2 win over Iran on Monday, Bellingham was one of England’s best performers and he got his name on the scoresheet for his efforts.

Speaking to the BBC ahead of the game, as per HITC, Gary Lineker waxed lyrical about Bellingham, who is widely recognised as one of Europe’s brightest talents.

Lineker says Bellingham reminds him of Manchester United legend and former England captain Bryan Robson, which is extremely rich praise.

“He looks like a future England captain doesn’t he. Mature, intelligent. He reminds me of another England captain a little bit, Bryan Robson. He’s box-to-box, he’ll score you a goal, he’ll defend, he’s strong, he’s tough,” Lineker said.

Is Bellingham what United need?

Although Rio Ferdinand doesn’t think United stand a chance at signing Bellingham, the reports aren’t going away. He will continue to get linked with United, Liverpool and Man City every time he performs well at the World Cup this winter.

That I can assure you.

But it means nothing until Bellingham makes his own decision at the end of the season.

A prime Bryan Robson was something to behold. Some United fans describe him as the greatest captain they’ve ever seen. Captain Marvel.

However, Reds of a younger generation may look towards Roy Keane, a fitting alternative.

Seeing Bellingham compared to one of United’s best ever players certainly makes me want to sign him that bit more. I won’t even try to cover that up.
