Mason Greenwood re-bailed after appearing in court

Mason Greenwood has been re-bailed until February 10 next year, with a trial set for November 27, 2023.

The 21-year-old was charged on October 15 for the offences and had breached his bail conditions by contacting the alleged victim.

He was then remanded in custody before being granted bail three days later on the conditions of not contacting the complainant and witnesses and to reside at an address in Bowdon, Trafford.

Greenwood was initially arrested in January and was immediately suspended by Manchester United. Footage circulated online of alleged incidents concerning Greenwood and the complainant, all of which are said to have taken place between November 1, 2018, and October 15, 2022.

He is accused of “repeatedly engaging” in controlling and coercive behaviour throughout the four years, which included making threats and derogatory comments on social media.

The attempted rape charge is said to have taken place on October 21, 2021, and he allegedly assaulted her between December 12, 2021, and December 31, 2021.
