England start World Cup campaign with 6-2 win as United trio impress

Manchester United trio Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford all had a big impact on England’s opening win at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The two defenders started the match and registered an assist each, while Marcus Rashford came off the bench and within a mere three touches scored his first goal at a major international tournament.

England led 3-0 at half-time and continued to cruise in the second-half, despite conceding two goals.

Gareth Southgate’s side take on the United States in their next group match on Friday.
