(Video) Cristiano Ronaldo misses Portugal training after Man United fallout

Cristiano Ronaldo is preparing to lead his country in what will be the forward’s fifth and most likely final World Cup, with the 37-year-old gunning for a first title in the tournament.

The build-up to the World Cup in Qatar, which kicks off on Sunday this weekend, has been centered around Ronaldo’s future amid his controversial interview with TV presenter Piers Morgan.

Ronaldo was heavily critical of United in the interview and the reaction has been damning, with reports this week suggesting that his team-mates at Old Trafford want him gone.

Nevertheless, the former Real Madrid and Juventus star is currently in Portugal with the rest of the national team. He was, however, not spotted in training on Wednesday ahead of their friendly against Nigeria on Thursday, as seen below.

It’s claimed that Ronaldo’s fitness is being monitored closely and he’s not being risked in the game against Nigeria. Portugal kick off their World Cup campaign against Ghana on November 24.
