Manchester United have released a statement in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan that will be released on Wednesday and Thursday night.

Snippets teasing the interview were released last night and it showed Ronaldo firing shots at Manchester United as a whole, as well as new manager Erik ten Hag.

United have released a short statement acknowledging the interview and insist they will wait full its full release before issuing a response.

The statement reads (via ManUtd.com): “Manchester United notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo.

“The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established.

“Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans.”

While I understand United can’t jump to any conclusions until the full interview comes out, surely his position at the club has become untenable. There is no way back now that he has disrespected Ten Hag.

Ronaldo is never going to accept his role as a substitute and he no longer warrants a place in the starting eleven.
