Manchester United legend Bryan Robson impressed by Ten Hag’s work to date

Former Manchester United midfielder Bryan Robson has been impressed by Erik ten Hag’s work to date.

Manchester United’s ‘Captain Marvel’ felt the club was in good hands during the pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia. And, after a stuttering start to the season, we saw Ten Hag steady the ship with improved results.

That has brought optimism to the table for the future. A lot of us are encouraged by Ten Hag’s management, but questions will remain over whether he will get the backing he needs to eventually take United back to the top.

Robson’s take on Ten Hag makes for interesting reading after he got to see the Dutch coach up close during the summer.

He said (via The Mirror): “I got to know Erik ten Hag on the pre-season tour. We were away for 17, 18 days so on a trip like that you get to meet and get to know the players and staff more than at other times.

“Myself, Denis Irwin and Andy Cole (fellow ambassadors) went to all the training sessions so we chatted to the manager and his staff. I think he will do a really good job for Manchester United, he keeps his feet on the ground and talks a lot of sense. His training sessions were really good. He puts in place exactly what he wants.

“If the players are a little bit indisciplined off the pitch he soon cracks down on them.”

Robson also seems to believe that Ten Hag will get the backing he needs from the club, adding: “He will get a lot of support from the club and I believe he will do a very good job for us.”

Manchester United take on Fulham in the Premier League later today. In the final game before the World Cup, it will important for Ten Hag to get another three points on the table.
