Peter Schmeichel gives damning verdict on Manchester United winger

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel is disappointed by the lack of impact we’ve seen from Jadon Sancho since the winger arrived at the club.

Sancho has struggled for form following his transfer at Borussia Dortmund, despite establishing himself as one of the most exciting talents in the Bundesliga.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge when he signed but things haven’t gone to plan for the Englishman, and he won’t be going to Qatar for the World Cup this winter.

Currently under Erik ten Hag, Sancho is at risk of losing his place in the team to academy graduate Alejandro Garnacho.

Schmeichel believes that the 22-year-old would not have featured in the Carabao Cup on Thursday night, even if he was fit.

He told Sky Sports, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News: “I don’t think he’s done enough.

“I’m a little bit disappointed with the talent that he has, and yes it’s difficult to come to Old Trafford with that price tag, I understand that. But he’s shown that he can do whatever he did at Borussia Dortmund, he just hasn’t done it enough.”

After falling behind twice, United knocked Aston Villa out of the cup and will face Burnley in the fourth round. Goals from Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay sealed the win.
