Facundo Pellistri to reconsider Manchester United future after World Cup

A report from Spain suggests Facundo Pellistri’s days at Manchester United could be numbered.

The Uruguay international missed out on a loan move at the beginning of the season after sustaining an injury, which has kept him out of action this season. Pellistri has not featured for United since returning from injury but still looks set to be heading to the World Cup in Qatar.

According to Diario AS, Pellistri will look for a permanent exit in the winter after he returns from the World Cup. The report claims he is not keen to join another English club on loan and would prefer to leave in search of more game time.

I don’t think Pellistri should be too downbeat right now because he should count himself lucky to be going to the World Cup. The plan was for him to go out on loan this season – not sit idle at Old Trafford – but nobody can be blamed for the injury that stopped that from happening.

We shouldn’t forget the fact he failed to any impact during his time at Alaves in La Liga last season.

Pellistri should be given chance against Aston Villa in Carabao Cup

Thursday night would be a good time to give Pellistri a chance in a United shirt before we get to see him in action at the World Cup.

I thought Pellistri performed well throughout the pre-season tour and would like to see him in the starting XI against Unai Emery’s side.

Ten Hag has yet to give any hints over what team he will field to face Aston Villa.
