Man Utd’s 4-0 loss to Brentford made Casemiro eager to get started at the club

Casemiro was even more motivated to join Manchester United after they oversaw a 4-0 defeat to Brentford.

United’s season got off to an awry start under Erik ten Hag; a 2-1 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford on opening day followed by a 4-0 thrashing by Brentford.

The squad looked deflated following the consecutive defeats and supporters struggled to see any signs of improvement or change from that of the previous season, in which they had just completed one of their worst Premier League campaigns to date.

Summer signing Casemiro was at home in Spain when he watched the game as he was days away from completing his transfer to United.

After witnessing the dismal performance, he decided to call United’s Director of Football John Murtough.

According to The Mirror, the Brazilian called Murtough not to tell him that he was having doubts about leaving Real Madrid – but to give assurances that he couldn’t wait to get started at Old Trafford.

Casemiro a crucial piece of the puzzle

The five-time Champions League winner is a figure that the Red Devils have been crying out for for years; passionate, a proven winner and can dominate the midfield. He has made the team look more solid defensively as well as being a threat in attack with his vision and passing.
