Manchester United’s Anthony Martial returns to first-team training

Martial training

Manchester United have been handed a huge injury boost as sidelined striker Anthony Martial was spotted training with the team at Carrington on Monday, October 31.

The Frenchman has been a significant loss to United this season as Erik ten Hag looked set to enter his first season in charge of the Red Devils with Martial utilised as his first-choice forward.

However, Martial has accumulated just 133 minutes of playing time in all competitions since August due to ongoing issues with injuries. So far, the 26-year-old has sustained a hamstring, achilles and back injury.

He has looked outstanding in the short cameos he has made, though, and has managed to contribute three goals and two assists whilst on the pitch this season.

When will Martial feature for United again?

Whilst Martial’s return date is currently unconfirmed, him being back in training is a positive sign. United have only four games remaining before the World Cup kicks off in November and achieving 12 points should be the target for Erik ten Hag and the players. Having the option of Martial as a starter or even off the bench as he returns to fitness would be a substantial boost for the squad.
