David Moyes confirms three West Ham stars are doubts for Man United clash

Manchester United will welcome West Ham to Old Trafford this weekend as they look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League, having settled for a draw at Chelsea recently.

Casemiro’s header in additional time earned Erik ten Hag’s men a point but overall, the Reds came out of the game feeling they should have taken all three points after dominating proceedings.

David Moyes will be returning to Old Trafford on Sunday but speaking ahead of the game, the Scottish manager has confirmed that three West Ham stars are doubts for the 90-minute affair.

“Cornet has had a setback,” Moyes is quoted as saying when quizzed on the availability of his players, according to Football London.

“(Dawson) is improving but not fit and Paqueta is not available because of his collarbone because of something there. Hopefully they are not too far away. Really touch and go for Sunday (against Manchester United).”

Cornet and Paqueta have both impressed since joining West Ham and the pair’s absence at Old Trafford could be a huge boost to Ten Hag, who will be looking to climb into the top four with a victory.

SN’s verdict…
Before starting their pre-match planning for Sunday’s game, United’s focus will solely be on securing a fourth consecutive win in the Europa League on Thursday.

After that, it will be interesting to see how the game against West Ham plays out. In recent years, almost all meetings between these two sides have been cagey affairs.

United have won four straight games in the league against David Moyes’ men but all matches have been closely contested. Ten Hag will be hoping that this one is not.
