Napoli’s in-demand striker Victor Osimhen scored the only goal in tonight’s Serie A tie against AS Roma as former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho came up short in a clash against a top six rival once again.
It was a typical Mourinho performance of the modern era. Defensive and uninspiring as Roma failed to produce a shot on target throughout the match.
The win puts Luciano Spalletti’s side on top with a three point lead over AC Milan. Their aim will be to become champions for the first time in over three decades.
Napoli will need the help of Manchester United transfer target Victor Osimhen, who bagged the winner tonight with a superb finish. It was his first start in six weeks and he made sure to mark his return with a match-winning goal.
Former United defender Chris Smalling was well beaten in the process, but Osimhen does superbly to finish from a tight angle with a powerful striker.
Rui Patricio should be doing better with 10 minutes remaining on the clock.
