Cristiano Ronaldo is nowhere near the player he once was.
That is the view of former Arsenal and Barcelona striker Thierry Henry, who has assessed the Portuguese superstar’s current situation which has seen him fall out of favour with Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag.
Once a nailed-on starter for any team in world football, Ronaldo, 37, can no longer boast of being his team’s most invaluable player.

Resigned to a bit-part role under Ten Hag, Ronaldo has started just two Premier League games so far this season and after being named on the bench again for tonight’s showdown against Spurs, the 37-year-old’s woes are showing no signs of letting up.
Discussing the former Real Madrid Galactico’s situation, Henry, who spoke to Amazon Prime, said: “The boss, Ten Hag, is here for the team, he’s not here for Cristiano Ronaldo.
“He needs to find a solution. […] At times, he has to play without him.
“[…] What he’s doing is not what he used to do. Sometimes is more difficult. He used to bail his team out all the time, he doesn’t do it as much now.”
