Antonio Conte confirms Tottenham star will miss Man United clash

Manchester United are set for a run of very tricky fixtures in the Premier League, with Erik ten Hag’s men set for three games in the space of seven days.

First up is Newcastle, who come to Old Trafford on Sunday looking to avoid their second defeat of the season after impressing under Eddie Howe.

After that, United will welcome high-flying Tottenham Hotspur to Old Trafford, who sit just one point behind league leaders Arsenal after their 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday.

The three points came at a cost for Antonio Conte’s men, however, with the Italian manager confirming that their big-money signing of the summer, Richarlison, will now miss the trip to Old Trafford with an injury.

That’s according to journalist James Olley, who says that Conte confirmed the news during his post-match media duties. Dejan Kulusevski, another influential player for the London club, could also miss the game after sustaining an injury in the recent international break.

SN’s verdict…
United will take confidence from their home record against the traditional big teams this season and it will be no different against Tottenham, regardless of whether Richarlison and Kulusevski miss out.

United were underdogs in this fixture last season but still won the game. The build-up to this game will be similar, with Tottenham still viewed as outsiders to the title race whereas the Reds are viewed as top-four candidates.

Richarlison is a big miss for the visitors, however.
