Erik ten Hag has praised Antony for the qualities he has shown since signing for Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

The Brazilian became the first United player to score in their first three consecutive Premier League matches. He netted impressive strikes against Arsenal, Manchester City and Arsenal and will be looking to add to his record during Sunday’s game against Newcastle United.

Ten Hag was adamant on signing the winger from his former club Ajax and was forced to meet the Dutch side’s valuation of £86 million. He has had already bolstered his squad with the addition of Lisandro Martinez from Ajax, who has proved to be an invaluable signing and irreplaceable in United’s defence.

The Dutch boss commented on what supporters can expect from Antony as he continues to gain experience, saying: “Development. I think we have seen a few now from his dribble capabilities, his speed. His finishing, also his creating, but now also he has to work on more variation.”
