Omonia’s Francis Uzoho has labelled Thursday night’s Europa League clash with Manchester United a “dream come true”.
United were unable to break the deadlock in normal time against Omonia and it was largely down to Uzoho’s remarkable performance between the sticks at Old Trafford. He made 12 saves in total with nine coming from shots inside the box.
A 93rd-minute strike from second-half substitute Scott McTominay broke the travelling Omonia fans’ hearts after their side’s impressive display, but nothing could dim Uzoho’s shine after keeping United’s ever-threatening attackers quiet all evening.
Uzoho, who is a self-proclaimed United fan, was still left beaming at full-time as even he knew he had just completed the performance of his career so far. He was seemingly praised by United players and even went to get a picture with Erik ten Hag before heading home to Greece.
When talking to BT Sport, the Nigerian said: “I am not disappointed [about the result] because we had a good game.”
"It's a dream come true for me!"

He added: “It’s a dream come true for me. I have dreamed to play here for a long, long time. When I was the draw and I figured I would be playing at Old Trafford, I prayed to God that I got an opportunity to play.”
Wholesome, humble and heartwarming. Hopefully, there is a bright future ahead for the exceptionally talented 23-year-old.
