(Video) Scott McTominay scores last-gasp winner for Man United vs Omonia

Manchester United experienced a very frustrating afternoon at Old Trafford on Thursday evening as a resilient Omonia side withstood non-stop pressure for more than 90 minutes.

It looked like it wasn’t going to be United’s night against the Cypriot side but eventually, their pressure paid off as substitute Scott McTominay made the difference.

McTominay was introduced with roughly 10 minutes to play and after having two efforts saved or go off target, he finally found the net with a third attempt.

United were patient in the build-up and the goal was deserved, which now gives the Reds a huge boost in their hopes of securing their passage to the next round.

United will now be aiming for top spot but face the challenge of winning away to Real Sociedad, who have won all four of their games so far.

There is an incentive to finish first in your group this year, with second-placed teams qualifying for the round of 32 whilst group winners go straight to the round of 16.
