Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea was full of praise for Omonia shot-stopper Francis Uzoho, even though the visitors lost the game on the night.
I loved Uzoho’s post-match interview on BT Sport because he was so proud of his performance as well as the fact the Nigeria international is a massive United fan certainly added to it. That said, I don’t think I would have enjoyed it so much if it wasn’t for Scott McTominay’s late winner.
Uzoho made an incredible 12 saves to keep United at bay for 93 minutes and De Gea wanted to single out Omonia’s second choice goalkeeper in his post-match interview with MUTV.
“Of course. I think he [Uzoho] had an amazing game.
“I think he made eight or 10 great saves for his team in the game but in the end we scored a goal and for sure he made a great game.
“I know he played in La Liga in Spain. He had an amazing game and congratulations for him.”
At the other end of the pitch, De Gea had nothing to do…
We probably should complement him on how assured he looked on the ball because it’s not often you can say that.
Uzoho will be over the moon to hear his heroes talk so highly of him.
