Manchester United will be looking to take one step closer to the knockout stages of the Europa League when they take on Omonia at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
The Reds go into the game on the back of a terrific 2-1 victory over Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League, whilst the visitors were defeated 1-0 by AEL in the Cypriot league respectively.
Cristiano Ronaldo is widely expected to lead the reds attack against Omonia after scoring the winner against Everton last time out whilst Antony is also likely to start.
Having won two out of the opening three group fixtures victory on Thursday night would put the Reds in a superb position to qualify to the knockout stages. The Europa League may not have been top of everybody’s wish list this season, but it provides United a chance to finally win some silverware and in doing so guarantee the Reds a spot in next seasons UEFA Champions League but it wont be easy.
Omonia proved to be tough opponents over in Cyprus and its pivotal United do not take their opponents lightly this time round. We could quite easily have dropped points in Cyprus and in order for the Reds to win we must be on our game right from the off.
One man who will be rearing to go for this game is Cristiano Ronaldo. After netting the winner against Everton he will be eager to make amends after missing chances over in Cyprus and you wouldn’t back against Ronaldo grabbing a few goals here this time round.
It wont be easy but United still should still win this one and comfortably.
