David Ornstein has claimed that Manchester United players would never turn their backs on Erik ten Hag should things turn awry at the club.
In recent years at United, the relationships between players and former managers have turned sour before managerial departures. Paul Pogba famously clashed with Jose Mourinho and reports circulated that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had lost the dressing room before his sacking last season.
However, things look set to change now since the appointment of Ten Hag. The Dutchman was the first choice for the position amongst the fans after Ralf Rangnick’s short spell in the dugout concluded and the former Ajax coach reinstated a sense of hope and excitement in Manchester – the feeling of a new era about to begin.

The feeling was shared by the players too, as reports have detailed the respect that the squad hold for the new boss.
David Ornstein revealed some information he was told after the Brentford defeat earlier this season, saying (via The Overlap): “I was being told by people close to the club and the first team that if the players are going to turn on anyone this time, it’s not going to be the manager.
“They’re going to go above and they’re going to throw executives under the bus – I don’t know – but not Ten Hag.”
