Omonia Nicosia took a first-half lead against Manchester United but were ultimately beaten by a Manchester United side that found a bit of groove after the break.
It would be fair to see the underdogs, managed by former Celtic man Neil Lennon, gave United a scare after scoring the first goal on a counter-attack.
United eventually rallied to victory thanks to substitutes Marcus Rashford (x2) and Anthony Martial, but Omonia scored another goal to make it 3-2 before the end.
Erik ten Hag’s side hung on at the end to claim three points.
However, speaking to BT Sport after the match, Lennon gave a positive account of his players because he was happy with the fact they scored twice.
“Scoring two goals was more than I could have imagined,” Lennon said.

Lennon become only the second British manager to lead an oversees team out against United in European competition.
It’s just a shame United made hard work of the tie.
