Man United training ahead of Europa League fixture vs Omonia

Man United are set to face Cypriot side Omonia in the Europa League later this week and Erik ten Hag has been putting his players through the paces in training.

United are desperate for a win to kickstart their season again after they miserably fell at the Etihad Stadium over the weekend, with Manchester City putting six goals past their bitter rivals.

Ten Hag will be aiming for a quick recovery after the disappointing defeat and three points at Omonia would be a fantastic start on their road to redemption.

Ten Hag and Bruno Fernandes delivered their pre-match verdicts on Tuesday before the squad trained at Carrington for the final time, with the Reds set to fly out to Cyprus on Wednesday.

There were a couple of notable absentees from the training squad, with captain Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane both nowhere to be seen. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has barely featured this season after being overtaken by Diogo Dalot, was also not spotted.

United will be hoping that Moldovan side FC Sheriff do them a favour by pulling a result out of the bag against group leaders Real Sociedad but that’s highly unlikely.

United have an added incentive of finishing in first place, with group runner-ups needing to play in the round of 32 whereas group winners qualify for the round of 16.
