Manchester United have been humiliated.

The Red Devils, who travelled across town to take on champions and bitter-rivals Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, have suffered a crushing 6-3 defeat.

A first-half goal fest, which saw Erling Haaland net a brace, set the tone of the game before the powerful Norweigan, along with Phil Foden, went on to complete their hat-tricks in the second half.

Antony and Anthony Martial were able to pull three consolation goals back but the game was already lost by then.

Following what has been a disastrous afternoon for Erik ten Hag, we have rated every United player that featured.

David De Gea

Not helped by his defence. Hard to put the scoreline down to just the goalkeeper. 3/10

Diogo Dalot

Booked early on for a badly timed tackle on Jack Grealish which made his job even harder. Afternoon to forget for the Portugal international. 3/10

Raphael Varane

United looked a lot more assured before he picked up an injury at the end of the first half and was consequently replaced by Victor Lindelof. 6/10

Lisandro Martinez

Not the performance fans were hoping for from Martinez. Looked weak against the likes of Erling Haaland and Phil Foden. 3/10

Tyrell Malacia

Had a moment of excellence during the first half after flicking the ball over an on-rushing Kyle Walker, but other than that, outclassed by Man City’s wide-attackers. Subbed at half-time in favour of Luke Shaw. 3/10

Scott McTominay

Tried hard throughout and did make a decent goal-line clearance but was never in contention to control his side’s midfield. Subbed off mid-way through the second half for Casemiro. 4/10

Christian Eriksen

Worst performance in a United shirt. Created very little and offered nothing going forward. 3/10

Bruno Fernandes

Ghosted through the game and eventually got frustrated. 3/10

Jadon Sancho

Shocking performance that will do nothing for his England hopes. Very, very poor performance. Subbed off with 20 minutes go for Fred. 2/10

Antony

Barely touched the ball for the first 55 minutes but then scored the goal of the game – a truly incredible strike that deserved more celebration, but it has to be said – the Brazilian’s overall performance was like the entire team’s… poor. 5/10

Marcus Rashford

Similarly to Sancho, Rashford also dropped a shocking performance. Never looked likely. Subbed off in the second half for Anthony Martial. 2/10

Subs:

Victor Lindelof

His introduction may have been a ‘like-for-like switch’, but that’s the extent to which Lindelof can be compared with Varane. 2/10

Luke Shaw

Introduced at half-time and did okay but will need to offer a lot more if he is to take back his spot from Malacia. 3/10

Casemiro

At fault for Phil Foden’s hat-trick goal. Did nothing to improve United’s midfield woes. 2/10

Anthony Martial

Was very quiet after being introduced but did pop up with a goal in the 83rd minute before winning a penalty (and converting it) with a few minutes to go. Decent cameo and one of United’s only positives. 7/10

Fred

Virtually impossible to come on and be expected to turn things around. 2/10
