Jadon Sancho explained his shinguard celebration after helping Manchester United to a 2-0 win over FC Sheriff on Thursday night.
The Manchester United winger was dealt a blow before the game as he missed out on a call up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures.
However, Sancho showed his true colours when he gave the perfect response 17 minutes into United’s clash with Moldovan outfit Sheriff.
After the match he revealed the heartwarming reason as to why he took off his shinguard and held it up to the crowd after scoring United’s first goal (via Daily Mail): “Yeah, a little kid gave me some shinpads and asked me to wear them. I said, ‘Yeah, no problem’ and that was a little gesture from me when I scored, showing him that I was wearing his shinpads that he gave me.”
Sancho also took to social media to thank Jacob, the fan in question, writing: “This is for you Jacob, Young Legend.”
