Manchester United make decision on Ollie Bray after 8-week trial

Ollie Bray has completed his trial at Manchester United, although the 19-year-old won’t be kept at the club.

The Willand Rovers striker, 19, has been tipped as one of the brightest talents in the Southern Football League and that is where he earned a trial at the biggest football club in the world.

Bray spent eight weeks on trial at United and recently featured for the U21s in a draw with Fulham. He managed to register an assist against the London side.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Bray didn’t do enough to warrant a contract at United. The trial has ended, and a decision has been made to pass on the opportunity to sign Bray.

I hope Bray’s quest to join a bigger club doesn’t stop abruptly here.

Bray may even see it as a knock in his path, but the youngster should hope to gain enough publicity from this trial that other clubs in the Premier League – or even the Championship – start to show an interest in his signature.

It didn’t happen for Bray this time around, but he is still a very young footballer with his career ahead of him.
