Solskjaer in the dugout for the first time since Manchester United axe

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has returned to the touchline.

The Manchester United legend was dismissed as manager last year after a poor run of results, but things didn’t get better after a replacement was found for the reminder of the season. He was sacked following a 4-1 defeat away at Watford.

You could say results got worse under Ralf Rangnick, who is no longer at the club, with Erik ten Hag now first team manager. We hope that the Dutchman is the answer to success, but Solskjaer will forever be held in high regard for his effort and dedication shown throughout his time at the club.

It is understood that Solskjaer has been approached for multiple jobs since he left United but has instead taken the time to spend with his family.

In his first game back in the dugout, however, Solskjaer managed his son Elijah’s U14 team in Kristiansund as they beat Blindheim. He has been training the youngsters two or three times a week and helping create an environment that is fun for them, as per Tidens Krav via VG.

This is a fantastic opportunity for these kids to learn from Solskjaer.

I’ve no doubt in my mind that he will continue to get offers from professional clubs. He should wait for something that really appeals to him.
