Manchester United breezed past Arsenal on Sunday evening as they claimed a fourth consecutive win in the Premier League, ending the Gunners’ unbeaten streak in the process.
Arsenal were in good form going into the encounter after beating several relegation candidates but have fallen at the first hurdle at Old Trafford.
Piers Morgan, an outspoken Arsenal fan on social media, was at his delusional best as he witnessed Erik ten Hag trump Mikel Arteta in every department.
The stages of denial
Ahead of the game, Morgan seemed to forget that Arsenal’s five wins have come against the five teams that will make up the bottom of the Premier League by May.
Combined Arsenal/United teams used to be fairly evenly split. Not any more. This would be mine today:
Ramsdale
White
Gabriel
Saliba
Zinchenko
Odegaard
Xhaka
Saka
Martinelli

Bargaining
Arsenal scored an illegal goal and it was correctly ruled out. Morgan knew there was no way back for Arsenal unless they were offered a helping hand from the officials.
FFS… more nonsense from game-destroyer VAR. Pathetic.

Delusion
At this point, we can only assume Morgan had realised what was coming. It took Fred five minutes to put both of Arsenal’s deep midfielders in a headlock.
Great news… Fred’s coming on. 👏👏👏👏

Acceptance
After comfortably succumbing to defeat, Morgan showcased their now perished five-game winning streak and the subsequent trophy.
