Antony makes debut: confirmed Man United line-up vs Arsenal

Manchester United are in Premier League action again on Sunday as Erik ten Hag eyes a fourth straight win in the league, having recovered from a disastrous start to the campaign.

Ahead of the win at Leicester earlier this week, United announced that Antony had completed his much-anticipated move from Ajax and thus, he is available for selection against Arsenal.

And there has now been confirmed that Antony makes his debut for the Reds, replacing Anthony Elanga from the side that won games against Leicester, Southampton and Liverpool.

Unsurprisingly, Ten Hag has chosen to stick with the same back-five after back-to-back clean sheets, with Lisandro Martinez also picking up the first Player of the Month award of the season.

Casemiro, United’s other big-money Brazilian, is on the bench again as Scott McTominay partners Christian Eriksen through the middle. There’s also no place for Cristiano Ronaldo, who starts on the bench for a fourth straight game.

SN’s verdict…
Ten Hag knows Antony well from their time at Ajax and above all else, he will add balance to the United side. A left-footed right-sided winger is integral to Ten Hag’s plans and that’s exactly what he’s got now.

There will be a lot of pressure on Antony to perform straight away and what a fixture to make your bow in English football.
