F1 champion Max Verstappen backs Ten Hag to succeed at Manchester United

Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen has spoken about Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

Verstappen is arguably the best F1 driver in the world after winning last season’s world championships and you wouldn’t bet against him reclaiming the title this term.

The Red Bull driver pipped Lewis Hamilton to win his first world title last season.

In a recent interview, Verstappen was asked to comment on Ten Hag as a fellow Dutchman and he thinks the former Ajax manager will succeed at Old Trafford.

Although Verstappen was born in Belgium, he races under a Dutch flag, and is known to be a PSV Eindhoven supporter.

Speaking to Sky Sports, F1 champion Max Verstappen said: “It’s nice to see other Dutchmen be high up, in the biggest clubs in the world.

“It’s not always easy to have that role in football but Erik ten Hag is a Dutchman, he can handle the pressure at Manchester United.”

Ten Hag will be aiming to become a champion – like Verstappen – on the biggest stage at United after doing a wonderful job at Ajax.

His first task as United manager will be to get us back into the Champions League, but the aim will be the bring the Premier League title back to Old Trafford.

At least Ten Hag has Verstappen’s backing.
