Manchester United willing to make offer to re-sign Barcelona attacker

Memphis Depay to return to Manchester United?

When the last Dutchman took charge of Manchester United, Memphis Depay arrived in his first summer before flopping in the Premier League. Some will say the move came too soon for Memphis or he got the wrong guidance, while others will tell you he deserved more time to prove himself.

According to Marca, Barcelona have potential found a suitor for Depay, who they’ve been trying to sell – like Frenkie de Jong – because the Netherlands international is deemed surplus to plans following the arrivals of Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha this summer.

The report also states that United are willing to make an offer for Memphis Depay’s signature a second time around, with an estimated value of €10 million.

Memphis Depay turns to United after failed Juventus transfer

The links come on the back of Depay’s failed transfer to Juventus. Reports suggest he was set to join the Serie A giants on a Bosman move, terminating his contract at Barcelona, but his salary demands of €8m+ proved too excessive for the Old Lady.

This is not a player who can bring United back to the top, but his presence in the squad could prove beneficial to Erik ten Hag – more so than he proved under Louis van Gaal.

He previously joined Barcelona on a free transfer after an impressive stint at Lyon, so he won’t want to take a step down by joining a lesser club at 28, with his best days ahead of him.
