Manchester United have gone into the half-time break against Liverpool one goal to the good and Erik ten Hag’s men have been good value for their lead.
Liverpool were heavy favourites ahead of the game but were second best for most of the first half, with United completely dominating all duels.
Anthony Elanga spurned a fantastic opportunity to give United the lead in the first half but his finish struck the upright. Moments later, Jadon Sancho produced a moment of magic to give his side a deserved lead.
Liverpool fought their way back into the game in the last 10 minutes but never really threatened the United goal but the home side were furious with Michael Oliver, tonight’s referee.

As seen above, United players swarmed around Oliver when the half-time whistle was sounded, with Bruno Fernandes among those to be especially aggrieved.
The scenes came after Diogo Dalot was penalised for a foul on Luis Diaz, which almost resulted in Fernandes scoring a comical own-goal.
United will hope for much of the same in the second half as they look to register their first win of the season.
Well done Man Utd on this win tonight . Rise up from game to game going forward.GGMU
