Casemiro set to wear number 18 at Manchester United

Casemiro is set to become a Manchester United player this week.

The defensive midfielder is scheduled to say goodbye to the Real Madrid fans on Monday at a press conference with club president Florentino Perez and his board of directors.

Once the press conference ends, Casemiro will travel to Manchester and could be presented at Old Trafford tonight before the match against Liverpool.

Unfortunately, the Brazil international will be watching from the stands while United try to sort out his UK visa.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, it has already been confirmed that Casemiro will wear the number 18 shirt – previously worn by Paul Scholes. This is the first time we’ve heard anything mentioned about a squad number.

We’ll be happy if the Brazilian can do half the job Scholes did for United in midfield, which has been an area for concern for a long time.

The midfielders we currently have at the club couldn’t lace Scholes’ boots, however, in Casemiro we have a player with bite as well as a good range of passing.

I can’t wait to see Casemiro breaking up play in the Premier League.
