Journalist claims Casemiro is keen on Manchester United transfer

Manchester United appear to be making moves to sign Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro.

Reports began to do the rounds over the past 24 hours, with The Athletic suggesting talks between United and Madrid were ‘progressing’.

Meanwhile, BBC Sport claim United will need to pay around £60 million to prize away Real Madrid’s number 14.

This could make Casemiro the most likely midfield signing before deadline day after United spent the summer chasing Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong. The recruitment considered Adrien Rabiot before deeming his wage demands too excessive.

However, the latest update comes from French journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi, who claims despite United’s lack of Champions League, the Brazil international wants to join the Red Devils this summer.

Replying to a United fan who asked if Casemiro is going to move to Old Trafford, Bouhafsi tweeted: “He [Casemiro] wants to come now we have to find a financial agreement.”

Casemiro to United?

For starters, I’m not intrigued by this potential signing than I was when we were linked to Rabiot.

Casemiro can bring much needed steel to our midfield and he’s not shy of fight.

I also think he’ll be able to play the deep midfield role on his own.
