(Video) Brentford’s Josh Da Silva takes advantage of David de Gea howler

David de Gea commits an absolute howler as Brentford take the lead against Manchester United.

The positives from our pre-season are evaporating quickly after seeing United concede an early goal against Brentford, after losing 2-1 against Brighton & Hove Albion last Sunday.

De Gea didn’t escape criticism then and he certainly won’t after this.

Brentford won the ball back when Ronaldo claimed to be fouled in their half before John Da Silva took a shot from distance.

Lisandro Martinez did his best to close him down but a basic error from De Gea saw the ball go through his hands and under his body.

As Gary Neville says on commentary, it’s not the first time we’ve seen this from the Spanish goalkeeper.

I honestly don’t know if the parry last week that led to a goal made De Gea want to try and make it extra sure of holding it, but that doesn’t make me feel any better any conceding the goal.

To make matters worse, Brentford have since made it 2-0.
