Manchester United need reinforcements.

Erik ten Hag didn’t get the start he wanted as Manchester United as the team lost its first game of the season against Brighton. His players failed to overcome Pascal Gross’ first-half brace and boos were heard at half-time because the team put in a similar performance to last season.

However, when we say reinforcements are needed, I wasn’t talking about Adrien Rabiot and Marko Arnautovic.

Last night, Sky Sports News reported that Bologna had turned down a £7.6m bid from United for the 33-year-old striker.

Reacting to the news, Gary Neville told Sky Sports: “I don’t know, I have no comment on it. Dave I’ve got a comment on everything in the world apart from Manchester United signing Marko Arnautovic today, I’ve got nothing to say.”

The former Stoke City and West Ham forward could make a shock move back to the Premier League this summer and, like Neville, I’m lost for words over it.

United are in a worse negotiation position after losing their first game of the season.

Now United are sounding more desperate than before.

Let us know in the comments section what you think about United chasing both Rabiot and Arnautovic at the end of the transfer window.
