(Video) Ten Hag sets record straight with reporter over Cristiano Ronaldo

Erik ten Hag was pressed by reporters on Cristiano Ronaldo’s future as well as the forward’s decision to leave the Rayo Vallecano friendly early.

The manager made it crystal clear he didn’t like the fact that players left early before the final whistle.

Cristiano Ronaldo was one of those players and, of course, that’s what made all the headlines over the past week – especially when Ten Hag addressing the issue whilst being interviewed by a Dutch media outlet.

However, with Ronaldo ruled out because of an injury, Ronaldo could start when we take on Brighton this weekend.

The Manchester United manager replied to a journalist in attendance (via Manchester Evening News): “What do you mean?

“Now I have to point, those who left, they were many players who left but the spotlight is on Cristiano, that is not right.

“So do your research and make out many players left, that was what was said. I don’t understand what is the relation, he was part of it.

“There were a lot of players [who left early].

“You mention it [that it is unacceptable], you correct them, then move on.”

This is something Ten Hag will need to knock out of the players. The notion that they can do as they wish around the club, but that can no longer happen on his watch.

Not if wishes to control the dressing room which is important for every manager.
