Lisandro Martinez’s impressive debut stats vs Rayo Vallecano

Lisandro Martinez made his Manchester United debut in a pre-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford this evening.

The 5’9” centre-back was assuring with his performance and looked like he wore a United shirt before.

Martinez was solid in the opening 45 minutes and out of the two centre-backs that started – including Raphael Varane – it was the new signing who looked miles ahead in his preparations for the new season, despite only joining the club earlier this week.

The Argentina international was one of the biggest positives from the game; he managed a 100% success rate at both tackles and final third pass accuracy.

On top of that, Martinez’ pass accuracy stood at a decent 96% and he made 1 important block before the break.

This is considerably more impressive when you consider that this was Martinez’s first appearance in a United shirt.

There will be bigger challenges in the coming weeks for our centre-backs.

The game finished 1-1.
