Jadon Sancho highlights improvement at Man Utd despite lack of new players

Jadon Sancho is one of the players in desperate need of a good start to the season and if keeps his pre-season form alive, you would back the 22-year-old to finally find his feet at Old Trafford.

The former Borussia Dortmund star endured a difficult first campaign at United but was arguably the club’s best player over the second half of the season.

Now, after losing out on a place in the last England camp, he has spent the entire summer getting ready with Erik ten Hag and he is close to cementing his place in the side.

Speaking ahead of United’s encounter with Aston Villa in Perth, which marks Sancho’s fourth start in as many games on tour, Sancho has highlighted the improvement in the side despite the lack of new players, hailing Ten Hag’s attention to detail.

“This pre-season, we have the same players but it just looks like a whole different team and I do think that’s something we’re working on and I feel like we’re getting better,” Sancho is quoted as saying by the official Manchester United website.

“The manager is big on team-bonding and having fun together and doing things like team dinners and things like that. So, yeah, it’s helping.”

SN’s verdict…
United fans have been waiting for Sancho to explode into life following his big-money move last summer and it looks like Ten Hag could be the guy to bring that out of him.

Thus far, he has preferred to play Sancho on the right-hand side – a position he struggled to fill under Ralf Rangnick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season.

He enjoyed his best spells on the opposite side but this summer, he has looked far more comfortable on the right. After all, that position is where he made a name for himself in Germany.
