When Anthony Martial left for Sevilla on loan in January, few could have foreseen the Frenchman ever putting on a Reds shirt again, but after putting in a man of the match display against Liverpool in Bangkok on Tuesday, it begs the question… Should Martial be given another opportunity to impress under Erik ten Hag this season?
Having been at United for well over six years it’s fair to say that Martial has had his fair share of opportunities to prove himself. After showing promise at the beginning he ultimately failed to deliver for United, but now could be the perfect time for Martial to revitalise his career at the club.
The cards have fallen perfectly for Martial.
Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he fell out of favour and under Ralf Rangnick he didn’t even get a look in. However, with Ten Hag here it has brought with it new opportunities and a fresh chance for everybody.

It’s easy to forget that Martial is still just 26 years of age. There aren’t many forwards in Europe as talented as Martial and if the Frenchman can get back to the level he was a few years ago and preform on a consistent basis, then United have a world class player on their hands who can easily score 20 goals plus per season for the club.
Only a few months ago you would have dismissed talk of Martial being given another opportunity at United. That ship appeared to have sailed but now things look very different, however, this will without doubt be his last chance to impress at Old Trafford. It started well enough but there is a long way to go and it’s down to Martial to take this opportunity.
